The Difference
Ugly amps is dedicated to producing the best quality amp for the working musician. We will try and hold down the prices of these amplifiers to make them affordable, to real people everywhere. We will always offer the best availble components for the best possible sound. We try and put the money into parts that actually make a difference in the sonic character of the amplifer.

    Custom Amps
Uglyamps is a small company, working on amps is what we love to do. We are building custom amps for guitar players all over the country. I think part of the secret is having the experience of building so many of the classic designs, but never building and "accurate clone" allows for more freedom of expression and the draw the most out of a tube configuration.     Yep, I was just gonna e-mail you.
Hi Steve , I really love the 18. Both channels sound awesome and sound even better when combined.
This 18 has got to be one of the best out there
and for the price it certainly is the best bang for the buck amp in existence.
All my friends are absolutely blown away by it.
Them and I can't believe the fattness and the huge tight bottom end.
Incredible work Steve.
Totally sincere

Steve - I received the ugly 1 twelve cab yesterday
and it looks and sounds great buddy.
The eminence wizard pairs up great with the ugly 18 head.
The white tolexed cabinet looks very well built
and I'm glad that I decided to go with the leftover grill cloth you offered me.
Great look Steve. Drop the volume back on the guitar she cleans up,
than nail the volume and you get that 18 watt plexi crunch that I've been hearing in my head
for a long time but could not achieve that tone with any of the amps or effects I've owned in the past.
This amp really inspires me to play it more.
It's very responsive and works great with dynamics and has a rich and full bodied tone.
I'm thinking that I may want you to build me a straight cab loaded with a 1 fifteen speaker
to make my setup a full stack bro. Let me know what you think buddy.
Steve, thank you and the Ugly Amp crew again for building me a great sounding boutique amp
without the boutique price. So you can add my write up in your satisfied customer section if you like. Ugly Amp Owner And Customer For Life !!! Peter Rahaniotis:
In a word: Rockin' In two: Fn' Rockin'! Got all the tubes in and sounds great - As I mentioned the cab I have is 16 ohms but so far doesn't seem to be a issue. I can't really crank it up in the apartment here to test the volume but it's fn' loud. ... Oh, the cabinet and covering are outstanding - The picture on the site doesn't come close to doing it justice at all. Really nice - The shade of Blue is perfect... just great. I hope you got some pics that really illustrate how nice it looks - I'm gonna have to get a road case to keep it looking good! I'll have to go over to Cisco's for a little Ugly taste test. Thanks! GD

Steve, The amp is fantastic. Rehearsed at super-low volume last night and didn't have any of that plinky dead note problem that usually comes with an amp on 1 Drove four hours to the NH seacoast to play a School Of Rock type day camp today, played a loud set in an auditorium (un-mic'd), and drove four hours home. The amp was killer - I had everything pointing straight up and it's a perfect sound for me - not really into distortion, but all the sound is RIGHT THERE. Really, I feel like the knobs can be set anywhere - no bad sounds. I'm very happy with it. I'm gonna send an endorsing e-mail out to my guitar folks mailing list right now. Best, cl
This email came in Just yesterday from another happy ugly 18 owner!
Hi Steve, The amp sounds amazing! Looks great as well. Very nicely voiced with pronounced mids and chimey highs. I really dig the channels bridged. I'm able to back my guitar volume off a bit (8-9) and get really snappy clean sounds. Volume on 10 is tonal nirvana! I could send almost any note I played into controlled feedback with sustain to die for without killing anyone's ears. I am very happy with the amp and it more than exceeded my expectations! I have played many "boutique" amps that were 2 to 3 times the cost of the ugly 18 and your amp is of the same build quality (Aluminum chassis, hand wired, ceramic tube sockets etc.) and can outshine/hang with all of em. Its really a stunning little amp! More than held its own with the very loud drummer I'm currently playing with. I could keep going but I have to get ready for a gig tonight and can't wait to plug into the ugly again! The tones I was getting last night have been in my head all day! Hopefully that answers your question...

Thanks Guys as you can see no hype here just really solid products get in touch with us and we can make you a happy guitar player too!
